Former Memphis disc jockey and close friend of Elvis once said, "If you're a fan, no explanation is needed. If you're not, no explanation is possible."
Four years after the release of Elvis, an outstanding biopic of Elvis' life, I believe director Baz Luhrmann has proven George Klein wrong; if you're not an Elvis fan, an explanation IS possible.
EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is a masterpiece within the sphere of Elvis Presley and very much beyond. Not entirely a documentary, not entirely a concert experience, EPiC artfully brings together an overview of Elvis' life; from his perspective. Remixed versions of hit songs, a culmination of lost film footage found during the making of Elvis and audio clips from rare interviews seamlessly join together into an emotional rollercoaster.
There's something for everyone here and even the Elvis-haters are likely to walk away from this hour and thirty-six minute spectacle saying, "I finally get it."
